Cabins Near Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons)

Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons) is one of Britain's great walking landscapes: sandstone ridges, hidden valleys, waterfalls, and night skies dark enough to be a designated Dark Sky Reserve. Our off-grid cabins sit 25 to 35 minutes from the eastern edge of the park, in Monmouthshire.

Where We Are

We are on an 80-acre rewilding project between Monmouth and Abergavenny, on the doorstep of Bannau Brycheiniog and the Black Mountains. Abergavenny, the eastern gateway to the park, is 20 minutes away. Crickhowell is around 30. The central Beacons sit roughly an hour to the west.

That position makes us a good base for the eastern Beacons and Black Mountains, while still being close to the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean for rest days.

A Proper Place to Rest After a Day on the Hill

The cabins are designed for tired legs. A king bed with soft linen, a log burner you can light while the kettle goes on, and a deck for sitting still. Hot showers and a stocked kitchen are at the Grange Hub a few minutes walk away, with an honesty bar of Welsh beer and cider for after the boots come off.

There is no wifi or TV in the cabin by design. Most guests sleep more deeply here than they expected.

Car-Free Brecon Beacons

Abergavenny station is on the main Cardiff to Manchester line, with direct trains from Bristol, Cardiff, Newport, Hereford and Manchester. A short taxi brings you to the cabins. From Abergavenny, local buses and pre-booked taxis reach Crickhowell, Llanthony and the start of several Beacons walks. Several guests do a full Beacons weekend without driving at all.
